After the successful completion of the Indian Wells Tennis Garden shade canopy, we were engaged to design, fabricate and install a self-contained event space for Indian Wells Golf Resort near Palm Springs, California.
Using several photographs and site specifications, we designed a classically proportioned pavilion made from coated PES tensile membrane. Fully enclosed, it maximizes natural light, allows easy transition to the outdoors, and can be used year-round. Climate-controlled HVAC systems and thermal insulation ensure that guests will be comfortable in any season. The space is convertible to allow for both indoor and outdoor events, and the front wall is completely retractable. Despite a short timeline and a strict city council approval process before fabrication could begin, the project was completed on time and on budget.
Structurflex provided concept development, development, design development, construction drawings, full engineering (steel, membrane and foundations), as well as supply, fabrication and installation of all materials.
